Welcome to the CHOC Board (the Christian Homeschool Online Community Board). We are a local resource directory, how-to guide, and community bulletin board for Christian home schoolers living in the extended Portland Oregon metro area and for any homeschooler needing wholesome activities for their homeschool, near or far.

Our Directories provide a yellow-page style, finger-tip index of educational activities and resources useful to Christian homeschoolers located in our area:
- Directory of Local Activities lists classes, instructors, programs, field trips, museums, nature parks, and more, available to local homeschoolers for enrichment of their educational studies
- Directory of Local Resources lists local resources that support the homeschool teacher such as curriculum stores, support groups, and homeschool organizations
- Directory of Handy Links provides the internet links to a multitude of educational resources sorted by subject

Our Community Bulletin Boards act as "upcoming event calender" and "announcement bulletin board" and are updated regularly by us and by community submissions:
- Community Events Calender our new calendar feature acts as an "event calendar" for upcoming date specific events occuring in our Portland metro or extended Northwest communities that would be of interest or importance to local Christian home schooling families. (Entries are categorized by month).
- Classified Announcements acts like "classified ads" and "camp bulletin board" to provide space for individuals, businesses and organizations to announce time sensitive or transitory educational opportunities available or for individuals to query our community about homeschool resources. (Entries are categorized by subject matter)

Our Help Articles provide "nuts and bolts" how-to guidance, with a local flair, in the following areas:
- Homeschool 101 addresses the basics of how to homeschool and the common issues that arise
- Homeschooling High School provides help for high school and career or college preparation
- Setting Up Learning Groups instructs how to set up a learning group with the local resources available
- Unit Fun suggests books, resources, and local sites to implement several themed unit studies
- The Editor's Corner will explore current issues in homeschooling offering encouragement and advice.
